WHAT WOULD YOU DO WEDNESDAY #5

Oh I am so excited!!!

Sometimes in life, you get dealt a bad hand. I'm sure we all have had our share of those, right??? But sometimes, for no reason at all other than the universe is in tune with you, something great happens. Yes, peeps, something awesome.

I've gone on and on about Freecycle before. Some of you didn't know what it was all about, some of you thought it wasn't worth it. Mock, if you will, the idea of virtually "trawling" through peoples unwanted items...mock me alllllll you want, because I hit the mother load!

Look at this??!?!?!?!?

And she was FREE too!! All thanks to a lovely lady named Flora. *hugs*

Now, here it comes guys; WHAT WOULD YOU DO??

(feel free to link posts in the comments if you have any ideas)

  1. I would hope to run into someone like you who knew how to transform furniture, lol. I don't have a crafty bone in my body, but I do enjoy seeing the re-dos. :)

Visiting today from Thursday's Favorite Things. :)

  2. What an awesome find!! Free is always the best;) I would paint it, and maybe add a little stenciling detail on the door fronts to give it some pizazz! Can't wait to see what you'll come up with!!

  4. Nice piece. I don't have a good eye for repurposing, but I can't wait to see what you do with it! Thank you for sharing at our Pinteresting Party!

  5. What a gorgeous piece! Please don't paint it. I paint a lot of furniture, but that is only because it is beyond saving. This piece looks like it could be stripped, sanded and refinished. I know it would be a lot of work, but I think in the end it would be beautiful. Check out my post http://chickinthestyx.blogspot.com/2013/03/lenoras-sonora.html for an example of a refinished piece I did.

  9. Freecycle in Birmingham, AL, is awful . . . all posts for things people want. Oh, well, I LOVE this piece. If you have the patience, strip and stain! If not, I think a grey with bright colors inside would be great!

  10. Oh, my! Lucky you - what a gorgeous piece! I love it. I don't know what to tell you what to do! Maybe paint it a pretty color?

  11. I have scored a few great finds on freecycle too! This one is gorgeous! I am torn on what to do. When you find a beautiful piece that is in great condition, I enjoy it. Most of the times I end up painting it, then I love it. Maybe a 2tone so you can still enjoy the gorgeous wood?

  12. I would run to my pin board "refinishing fun" here: http://pinterest.com/ibshell2/refinishing-fun/ and find something that struck me as the perfect character for the piece. I would definitely paint it. GORGEOUS FIND---way to GO!!
